What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

Nope, not interested at all in living long unless I am healthy. Like most people I think I am most happy when my body functions the way I want it to, but there is always room for improvement. I just don’t want to be around if I have to suffer, but even that I suppose has a silver lining called not suffering. I have the idea that life is what you make it, but I don’t want dementia and I don’t want a slow and painful death, just to live so long as I am healthy enough to have joy until I die, upon which I expect eternal life.

I think the idea of living a very long life is both fascinating and complicated.

On the hopeful side, a long life can be a gift if those extra years come with health, clarity, purpose, and connection. More time to learn, love, create, repair relationships, travel, and contribute wisdom. A longer lifespan could mean fewer rushed dreams and more chances to reinvent yourself. In that sense, longevity isn’t about “not dying,” but about having more meaningful seasons of life.
